First trip

Yesterday I took, what for me, is the first real trip with the Power Wagon. It was 265 miles - stopping every hour for the puppy's( Brownie ) relief. It was an enjoyable, albeit long, adventure. It took the better part of seven hours.

It's obvious that even though we got little snow - we must have received a lot of rain. The paved county roads are a mess - frost heaves. The suspension on the Power Wagon accentuates this situation.

Surprisingly - I got 18 mpg on this trip. One of the many features incorporated into the dashboard electronics.

For those that know this area - I went north from Wilbur - across Lake Rosevelt on the Keller ferry - over Bridge Creek pass to Inchelium - again across Lake Rosevelt on the Gifford ferry and down to Davenport. From Davenport to Cheney and home.

We saw temps in the upper 70's - got to use the air conditioner( lots of glass on the Power Wagon).

The puppy did not enjoy the trip that much. When home - he ripped around on the lawn until he completely dropped.

However - with frequent stops, the trip was completed with no "accidents". All in all - a good day.

And, BTW, the driveway is now dry & a little dusty.

That is a nice, scenic drive, not one that one makes fast time on even without a puppy.

Another nice trip up in that same general area - Flowery Trail Rd. Goes from Chewelah to Usk, over the Selkirk Mts. Especially FINE on a motorcycle.

Turnkey4099- so true, so true. Anybody says they can make good time going over the Selkirks - Keller to Inchelium - is most likely speaking to you from the grave. Fortunately - nobody was hauling logs yesterday. Met a couple big rotary sweepers - getting rid of all the winter sand. Now that is one road that would not be pleasant in the winter. There are drop offs where the Lord's Prayer could be recited twice before final touch down. Much like - Going to the Sun.
