first time owner

I have just bought a MF35. Is there such a thing as an ownership for a tractor like we have for cars? I am in Ontario, Canada. Thanks

I don't know about Canada, but there is no title for tractors where I live. Some states in USA may have something as there was some talk about requiring them, but I am not sures. It is a big problem with equipment and thieves when no title registration is required. They are easy to sell with just a bill of sale. I doubt your old tractor would have a title even if new ones required one as most times when sold without one, it is grandfathered in per the old laws.

Nothing for Minnesota.

I think U.S. State Registration / Titles are intended for vehicles that use public / shared transportation infrastructure. So autos/trucks/boats/ATV's/snowmobiles, etc.

I would hang on to the bill of sale which hopefully includes model & s/n.

What 11fingers says... registration would be required if you were going to regularly use public/provincial roads, though.

I don't know where one would go to 'register' a tractor in Ontario...
Many secondary roads in my area are posted 'slow farm vehicles use this road'
All the law requires is a slow-moving-vehicle triangle sign, and a bit of common sense doesn't hurt.

Thanks to all that replied. I have a bill of sale with serial number, and I found that in Ontario you can call service Ontario and search for any liens on a vehicle you plan to buy (which I did).
