First stump with BH77

Very nice. You'll find that you have all kinds of traction now. I could not believe the difference it made on my tractor. I can actually leave mine in 2wd when the hoe is on.

Make sure you have the updated pin in your BH77. Otherwise it can get real ugly real fast

Tomtint,

I remember seeing a thread where a pin on the dipper sticks cylinder broke. Would you happen to have the part numbers involved, or know the production dates involved? Or possibly have a link leading to this information?

Thanks for highlighting this issue for me.

I believe the only real complaint I have with the BH77 is that there is no leg room. I addressed this by moving the seat back 4 inches. I used 1/8" X 1 1/2" aluminum angle I had on hand. I found this made working the controls easier since my knees were no longer in the way of the leavers.

Mac in PA,

Nice job on your seat-mount extensions!

I thought the BH 77 looked like it might be a little short on legroom, myself, and I'm only 5 foot 10" tall. If you don't mind me asking, are you taller than that?

The reason I ask is that I am looking at a cabbed B3030 and, I understand that until the BH 77 came out, there was no Kubota-built hoe that wouldeven go on the tractor, due to the cab. In fact, it was my understanding that the Woods hoe was a popular dealer add-on, in lieu of a Kubota hoe. I liked the Woods BH80-X for a number of reasons, one being the adjustable swing speed, as I have some light "crane work" in mind for the backhoe.

The dealer told me that there is now an "adapter" that essentially moves the BH 77 back far enough that it will clear the cab.

But it makes me wonder: even with this adapter, I wonder if there would even be enough room to install seat mount extensions, as you did, without the operator's seat being pushed into the cab?

Any thoughts you or any cabbed B3030 owners have would be most welcome!

Thanks,

My Hoe

Nice set up!!! I have the L3200 with BH77 backhoe, and its amazing what you can do with it. I have a video on You Tube showing me using the backhoe to remove a stump on my property. I do regret NOT getting the thumb though......I can now see it would have come in handy on several occasions. Guess I'm gonna have to save up and order that. By the way...what "Pin" are you talking about? I bought mine in 2011, and havent had any problems, but now I'm worried I may have to replace a pin that has been recalled or faulty????? Thanks, and enjoy your awesome tractor. I know I enjoy mine!

Very nice. I remember my first stump removal with my bh75. Finally paid it off last spring. Curious how much the 77 is selling for and the thumb too.

I bought my BH77 for $7500.00 new at the dealership. The thumb is between 400 and 500 dollars (depends on what type you get) so basically $8000 in all (give or take).:confused2:
