I am the one who started the plasma cutter thread and I have actually used for something worthwhile. Not practical but I think it was worth the work. My little girl has one these Power Wheels type of vehicles that looks like a John Deere Gator. I decided I would build her a trailer for it and here is the result. I got a lot of good torch time working on the little trailer. It is made of 1.5 inch box tubing with a little angle iron thrown in. Tires are pnuematic. It looks like a 1/4 scale 5X8 utility trailer. She likes it.

Brings back good memories. When I was a child I had a little pedal tractor that I rode everywhere. My grandfather built a little trailer similar to that, but smaller and I used it to haul stuff around for grandma while she gardened.....even when she didn't want me to.

It was instructive as well. I learned how to back that trailer where ever I wanted it to be and that skill has served me well as an adult.

Beautiful! - and the trailer looks good, too. How much can they haul?

Looks like I'm going to have to talk my wife into a plasma cutter now. My father in law just brought me up about 10 3ft by 5ft sheets of 1/4 inch plate and about 20 sheets of 1/8 inch the same size. I'm going to need something to cut the stuff to size for a few projects.

I have no doubt that the little trailer with it's 1.5" box tube frame could easily carry 100lbs, it was the Gator I was worried about. I really wasn't worried about her pitching a 50lb sack of feed into the trailer but I was concerned a couple of her little friends would pile in the trailer and the back of the Gator would tear apart. The hitch was a tab welded to a 3X5 inch plate with two 1/4-20 bolts through the plate then the Gator then through a back plate for reinforcement. I noticed when she would hit a bump the little hitch moved up and down due to the flexing of the Gators plastic frame. So tonight I just finished opening the Gator up for some reinforment surgery. I think she now has the only 3/4 ton rated Gator in the neighborhood. Man do I need something constructive to do!!! But it is so much fun.
