First oil change on my nortrac/ whats up with it ?

well i changed the oil and filter at 10 Hr on my 204 nortrac tractor it tells you in the book it takes 6.36 Qt of oil , i changed it and put 5 Qt in ran it , let it set and it shows about 1/4 over the full mark , whats up, if i put 1.36 more qt's in it, it will be way over full , any help , Thanks Frank /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I believe you have the Y380 engine, and someone has mentioned that one of the differences from Y385, is the oil capacity. Northerns's websites says: Engine Oil: .92 Gallons/3.68 Quarts, which seems low but give them a call, to discuss.
