first major bummer with my tractor

well when i got the more about 2 years ago i took the mod mower off so as not to bang it around when using the bucket which is my main use. well my garden tractor axle broke today - was ticked and figured I'd hook up the mower - have notes and watched the video may times but my main pto mower mount under your footplate would not come down - stuck up there - no way to get the mower attached. have to get it towed 60 mile away and pay for it both ways and get it checked out and freed up plus the service. service bill and towing bad enough but now this. **** thing should have worked. that was my backup for the garden tractor - **** i do not have anything now. will take month to get taken care of and back to me. i am feeling more like selling the max 25 and saying well i had it for a while - liked whi;le i had it and it worked but....

sorry for my rant - just everything broke today and the last month - tiller and chipper too.

anyone have any clues how to free the assembly where the mower gets pinned to the pto under where your feet would be. The back end drops down but the mid portion doesn't - I cannot connect the mower - would sure help me save a couple hundred bucks i bet. maybe a hundred for labor. and no - i do not run over stumps or trees and brush like a number of you do - it is a pretty sane place and rather groomed. thanks.

I am not familiar with your mower set up, I'm guessing it's a mid mount belly mower. Do you know a local guy that might take a look at it? Sometimes all it takes a someone with a "fresh perspective" to show up and solve the problem. How about a call to your dealer for that one little "tip" that wasn't on the video?

call the dealer i bought ut from and he didn't know - he is bad news. I called a dealer farther away who i was planning on having my tractor serviced thereand he said what was on the video and i did watch it 25 x since ihad the tractor and 3x today the part that the midmower is pinned too does not drop down with the rest of the pto . I appreciate you help.

no one around that could help so i posted here. believe me i am not dumb re: this issue just looks like the part does not come down to get to the level of the deck holes.

BlackOps have you greased the pivot points for the linkages. If you grab your manual it shows all the spots to grease. It's worth a try.

Not for nothing bud, but did you adjust the height adjustment knob to "Install", so they are free to drop all the way. The manual shows all the linkages and how they are arranged, so it should show you all the points that need to pivot. Don't be to hard on yourself, things happen, this is a great tractor, you'll get it.

not sure what you mean in the last post re: install.

I am just so bummed - he one time i needed the backup and i can't get the backup to even hookup.

I will check the manual tomorrow am. tractor manual? i read it 3x when i got the tractor.

i am bummed and just exhausted since i wake up early daily.

The adjustment knob set the deck cut height. It adjusts from 4" to 2" for cut height. The highest setting is Transport for obvious reason and the lowest is Install to allow the linkages to drop far enough to install the deck.

Btw it's the manual for the mower deck, not the tractor. The mmm manual has all the info, it shows everything and how it's arranged.
