Charging during peak tier which had an extra hour added was discouraged and also more expensive...

A lot of owners charge early AM as standard practice.

You are right in that we were asked not to use major appliances during the time... no washing, etc...

Good thing is wash dried in a few minutes and no one really was cooking over a hot stove anyway...

I am concerned with the push to all electric and phase out of gas...

ISO is the independent system operator for much of California and the decisions to shed is based on supply and load.

So far no one prosecuted or citied for using electricity unlike water where you can and will be cited for waste or non approved use.

Not sure the tradeoff as heavy industry leaves and replaced by the push to create tens of thousands of new housing in many regions.

All the new homes and more people using the roads is noticable...

The decision made to fundamentally change power in California is profound... I'm sure those outside will benefit from California's successes and minimize pitfalls...
