If you are OK with a quick dump use the far right stick position to uncurl. This is regen and applies pressure to both sides of the dump cyls. Prevents the partially empty cyls you are experiencing.

I would suggest you read your manual first. The boom goes to float position and locks if you push the control lever all the way forward. Just try pushing it just a little and watch it stop when you release the lever. If the bucket is swinging you might try Spyderlk's advise and see if that works.

I have read the manual first and I've been using loaders for 44 years. I know what the full forward position is for. The loader works properly, it's the bucket that won't stay where I put it. Even in float position the bucket should stay locked.

I had this happen last summer. My problem was caused by an ex-employee manhandling the joystick to dump. After going through the loader valve several times and replacing a missing detent ball (which had broken into several pieces), it ended up being a partial piece of the ball lodged inside one of the quick disconnect ends on the loader. The piece of steel had bent the small stem in there, not allowing it to close. Not saying that you've been abusing it, but it is possible for one of those detent balls to have a defect and crack.

Yesterday was the first time I've used it. I never abuse anything I have to pay for. I don't know if anything could have happened when it was on the dealer's lot. It had 4.5 hours on it.

I wasn't saying you did and I apologize if you took it that way.

There could be something (anything) lodged in one of those disconnects though, that's why I'd check them.

I didn't take it that way. I appreciate you trying to help. Everything's cool.

When you dump the bucket hold joystick for a couple of seconds in dump position, it will give hydraulics time to catch up. The weight of what you are dumping moves bucket faster than the hydraulic flow is

:thumbsup:This is the reason to use regen dump when you can.
