Nothing wrong with introducing your children to shooting and safe gun ownership.

BUT, introducing a 6 year old to shoot chipmunks, is that after you taught him how to step on frogs and use a magnifying lens to kill ants?

I believe the OP said he was spending time with his daughter and teaching her gun safety. I expect he's also teaching her to be courteous to others.

Seems to me the OP never said he was shooting chipmunks. One poster mentioned a gun called the "chipmunk". OP did mention the possibility of taking a squirrel one day. If I read him right I'm sure there will be some squirrel dumplings or squirrel and gravy on the supper table that evening! Nothing wrong with teaching your children some good ethical harvesting of wild game.
