The reason is the "rescuer" may be unfamiliar with the operation of the equipment and ANY powered attempt to relieve the trapped may end up crushing them further or worse.

Standard procedure would be to chock wheels, take key from ignition, disconnect battery, use cribbing plus airbags to take the victim from the entrapment while having a medical team on stand-bye.

Even though theoretically at first glance it may seem better to just muscle the object off of the victim...
