I finished my RC sailboat kit Saturday night. Took it sailing yesterday. Even got my Dad out sailing my second boat
My brother got a great deal on a used boat; he went too.
Overall, the project was a lot of fun. I would call the Seawind an intermediate kit; definitely not a "Ready to Run", but not as involved as kits that start from scratch with little wooden planks, hull coverings etc.
The boat sailed very well for the first time out. I have seen these boats in action, and seen them rigged, which helped. I was able to put the boat in the front seat of my xcab truck, with the passenger seat reclined. It is easy to take the sails and mast off if necessary, but I didn't need to.
The longer boat was easier to sail than the shorter boat. It also caught the wind very well; a breeze that left the small boat sitting in the water would move the bigger boat.
Here's some pitcures of the boat in progress, and sailing with my brother and Dad.
