Finished mating my jinma hoe to the Kama!

Well, after a lot of cutting, welding, and head scratching i got the frame mount hoe from my old Jinma 284 mated up to my KM554.
I used a prince pump to make it easy and for greater flow rate and boy i just need to run at idle now!
the worst part of the job was fabing up the front bracket that went tied both loader frames together and had the drop downs to go to the hoe frame. I also made the frame 3 feet longer.
That new plasma cutter sure was handy.....
Now all i have to do is keep those crappy ram line o-rings from blowing out in the worst places. I am thinking of trying to replace the o-rings with copper washers and seeing if they seal up, anyone try this yet?
The chinese need to put an extra 10% effort into these things to engineer them correctly. The seal-loc fittings they use are not proper for this application. A true seal-lock fitting should have the o-ring captured on both the OD and ID but in this case they only have them captured on the OD and the o-ring can squish inward losing clamp and seal. Idiots!

good to see you back here & getting that hoe going!

My hoe I belive has o-ring groves not just the center opening like you describe, or at least I THINK it does? I've had mine appart never for a leak but for broken parts and removeal & installing the cylinder I broke. never any leaks from o-ring failure. I did find lots of extra o-rings in the hoe kit though /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

It is possible i have an older model. If you have that style that is good, those are top notch fittings. The ones i have are like all the rest i have on that hoe, including the pump fittings itself. There should be a flat face with a round groove the same shape as an o-ring in it for the o-ring to sit in. this way the o-ring is captured on both the OD and ID and cannot push out anywhere.
Mine have a circle pocket with everything removed and the o-ring is only captured by the OD, the ID of the o-ring is just fluid pressure area, a real bad design. if you get time take off one of your fittings and confirm it. BTW, can you get me the od diameter and thickness of the o-rings?? i want to try and find copper washers to fit in mine and try and cure this crap design from leaking once and for all.
I go and work on my stuff 200 miles away and forget to get the info i need to find fixes for it..

I can probably get the O-Ring OD for ya, from one of the extra o-rings I have in my kit, they are very small dia things as in not very big around and probably about 7/16" outside with inside dia of just slightly less thickness is less than 1/16 and I do not have any in my genirick o-ring kit that work for them as they are too thin/od diamiter to find. I foind some water parts that worked (but I later rememberd I had a hundred extras in the backhoe box after hunting everywhere for a replacement that was cut when I removed it)

anyhow I'll try and remember to measure one with the mic tomarrow at the farm.
