I was looking at a GC2410TLB today that was rotting away on a dealer's lot. This thing has been weathering probably since day one. Some of the letters are completely bleached off on some controls. The red plastic is very dull in appearance and no longer has a gloss to it. The backhoe is missing from the machine. Given that the 2400 series hasn't been out that many years, this can only be so old. How can I tell when it was built, by the serial number? I already checked tractordata.com, but they have no info for this model.

Thanks to Rick's help, I learned that this machine was built in 2008. :thumbsup:
I then spoke with the dealer about it. The best he was willing to do price-wise was about $300-500 less than I can get a brand new, unweathered, 2010, I could get from any number of places. :confused2:
With that I politely walked. My guess is that he was so deep into his floor plan costs on this machine, he was unwilling to cut his profit (or losses) at this point. It's sad to see a wonderful machine like this just rotting away. Oh well.
