It sure appears to be an armadillo. Even though it resembles a horseshoe crab somewhat, a horseshoe crab is not a mammal. We all know that the OP wouldn't attempt to confuse us by showing us a photo of an animal that isn't a mammal. I wish that the photo showed the animal in sharper detail, but that would defeat the purpose in regards to the identification process.

Well from my iPhone, without my glasses on - early in the morn before my caffeine has fully engaged...I say opossum.

Initially thought armadillo, but it just doesn't quite look right to be a 'dillo. Possum - final answer.

I opened it full size AND zoomed IE to 200%.

I can still see what looks like a 'Dillo to me... My final answer as well.
