got 6+ years out of it. Great in my book. Went to rural King and picked up a mid grade Exide battery for $49.95. The bad news is that the bolt haeds to the battery hold down had rusted where the live under wet seed and leaves for weeks at a time. Had to remove the grill to gain access with a grinding wheel to cut the heads off. After removing the bolt heads, I cut a slot in the remaining part of the bolt and removed with a screwdriver. Not hard but was time consuming. Put everything back together and it is running like a champ. I hope I get another 6 years, but I doubt it.

Probably aware of possible explosion of batteries but when you mention using a grinder on the hold down bolts it promps me to just mention it.

Don't think that it did not cross my mind. It seemed better than a torch.
