Ingersoll 448 with 42" tiller and 60" deck. John Deere 3046R, cab, T&T, H165 loader with 4and1, 60D Autoconnect, 72" boxblade, 59" snowblower
For as long as I can remember I have always wanted a CUT, even before the phrase "CUT"was created. I grew up in the '70's and remember the Case/Ingersoll tractors in their prime. I also mowed with a Cub Low Boy on several occasions back then. I remember when the Deere 430 was released and how cool I thought that machine was and how badly I wanted one. Diesel, steel, hydraulics, and tons of attachments available. Who didn't want one?!

Time passed and for short time I had at-will use of a Deere 855 with loader and I bought a front mount snow blower and had a ball for a while. Unfortunately, the 855 went and so did my fun, but I did keep the blower because I knew I would need it again someday. That day is here! I signed the paperwork today for a Deere 3046R and I couldn't be happier. I literally have been waiting a couple decades for this day. I am not usually a boastfully type person, but I realize how great this day is to people like us, so I've done it. 3046R with H165 loader and 4-n-1 bucket. Pretty much all the hydraulics it can have, cab, uh..deluxe cab, front hitch, 60D deck (auto connect), Imatch, and of course, the snow blower. I also picked up a 72 box blade, fixed rear.

I would like to thank all the people that post here. Posts on random subjects certainly did help solidify some of my decisions.

With my current property a 2000 series would have been ideal size wise. But as so many have pointed out, gauge your ideal and then go up 1 size, so that's what I did. Also, I wanted full use of hydraulics and of course the cab. The 2000 series just could not offer what I desired.

I did consider orange, blue, and red tractors as well. For the options I wanted (logical or not), no one but Deere could provide. Cost wise, to "max out" options the other manufacturers cost would have nearly the same or even more. Yes more.

My Deere dealer did me pretty good. It took a while for them to get back to me with a quote due to the busy season. But once we started quoting and re-quoting plenty of attention was paid and we got it hashed out pretty quickly. I routinely look at line item bill of materials for my job, so looking over the quote was pretty easy for me, but I caution anyone doing the same to pay attention to the details. There were a lot of duplicate line items that I found and brought up to the dealer. I do not fault the dealer and in no way do I think they were trying to pad the quote. I added a lot of options and those guys are just not that familiar with that process for that type of unit. As for the price, standard discounts all around. I did mention a competitors offer on finance availability and I had a voice mail and a new quote with an additional year of 0% financing offered and a few more dollars off every item. I was also tossing around what I wanted to do for a box blade. Long story short, I got the box blade $300 CHEAPER than any dealer or website offered it. How can anyone complain about that? Frontier blade and looks to be the same as KK.

Service wise, the offers from the dealer seem sound. They offered to come pick up the blower box so they could convert/mount and verify it's all good before delivery. Estimated delivery time is 3-5 weeks. The dealer does have 3 in stock at other facilities with proper options and tires but some of the options require shipping of components and additional plumbing.

I have to go now so I can clear space.

Thanks again.
Darren

It will take you back to your youth in many ways... enjoy!

As to dealers... I too found for whatever reason, the homeowner market is just an afterthought... I realize if the sales team gets 80% of sales from 20% of the customers... this is where their focus will be.

It just seems in a big organization a dedicated SCUT or CUT salesperson could do well by knowing the product and bringing in Demo/Display units.

When I worked in auto parts I convinced the owner to bring in rebuilt engines and let me make up a display with accessories with prices individually and as a package... before we had been pretty much special order.

Sales took off because sometimes people do not know what they want until they see it...

Congratulations again!

Thanks for the congrats. Ultra, it's the same in all sales. For instance, real estate. Commission on a $200k house is going to get more effort than commission on a $50k house. I can't say that I blame them. Time is precious.

Eric, it will be a long, busy wait. I will be going 100% until then trying to get space configured. With the cab it will not fit in my regular garage door, so I'm making a drive thru garage with a single wide door in the back. It will be worth it. I've waited so long now, will be quick. *fingers crossed*

I forgot to include I got the top and tilt as well. Yehawwww!!!

I was just at my dealer and they had a 3046 with cab in front. One of the nicest looking cabs I've seen. I'm jealous.

Sounds very nice. Congratulations. Post pictures when you get it. I just looked up some photos of the same tractor on the internet and it looks like it'll be a great setup.
