Interesting setup.
Dual tires are for only winter use?

Nope, they stay on all year round, they provide unbelievable stability, I have never had any pucker factor since I put them on even when mowing on big slopes or using the FEL.

Indeed it is. Sorry...I overlook to include the BX reference.
I did omit to say that my new tractor will not be as nimble as the BX2660, especially when mowing. The L4240 will not run in between trees like the BX. I guess no tractor (like a boat) is good at everything.

I really do like the double wheels!

I also have this same set up; Kubota 2660 with a front snow blower (minus the wings of course) and I'm trading my unit for a couple of reasons.

- Blower unit can get bogged down in heavy wet snow, Unless your pushing cold light snow (where it does a great job) I'd would suspect that the wings might add to the capacity problem, at least where I live.
- The progress can be slow if there is a volume of snow. The machine has more than sufficient power but my blower unit can break shear bolts (on pavement) if you don't take your time.
- Changing shear bolts on the impeller shaft can be a frustrating experience in this sized blower unit, as you have very little room to work.
- The after market Curtis cab is very noisy. Have to wear ear protection at all times.
- Having said all that, I have never had a traction problem, with or without a ballast box....but the duelly wheels sure do look cool. You look like you could be on a ski resort!

I will miss my 2660, as we have worked through a bunch of wicked storms together. She was my first tractor. My new rig arrived at the dealer last week (picking her up tomorrow). I am trading the BX2660 on an L4240 with a factory cab. This time I've decided to add the blower on the back with a plow on the front. The aim is to plow, then blow it where I want it. This will allow me to use the tractor even if it's slushy. We all know blowers are not fans of slush.

Sadly, I will likely have to wait until next winter to try out my new L4240. I will post pics once she's delivered. pat

I get a lot of wet snow here as well and have only bogged down a bit going through a 3' drift. With the wings I do slow down a bit just to keep the load on the blower low, but I have also sped up and the blower kept up just fine.

I can relate to the shear bolt on the impeller thing, I was on the last row and only 2' to go when all of a sudden nothing is going through the chute, got out and took a look and said a few words of personal relief, it took an hour to thaw out the snow clogged and install a new bolt, definately little room to move.

I've got the Lauren Deluxe Cab, it used to be noisy inside the cab but since I completely sealed it, the noise has dropped down enough that I can enjoy my music while working.

The 2660 is my first tractor, and it is a power horse forsure and does more things than it should, I should have gotten a B3030 or even moved up to the 50HP range cause there is a lot of short comings I have found with the 2660, it takes 7 days to mow my pasture of 48 acres (12 hour mowing days) it doesn't have enough power to even lift it's own RFM with the loader for underside maintenance, when I was fencing the 2660 was way too light for the post pounder (every time it hit the post the whole tractor bounced like crazy, lol)

Well I'm jealous about the amount of land you have but 7 days to mow the lawn is "out of control" LOL. I think its a common mistake to buy too small a unit the first time round. I may have over done it this time with the L4240 but I will never need to replace this puppy!

I went in looking at the 3030, told the dealer everything that needs to be done an he assured me the 2660 was more than enough tractor to do the job efficiently

That's a BX2660 heavily modded. It has rear remotes, duals for the rear, the cab, it has a 7 round trailer hook up with a trailer brake controller, it's got pats quick hitch, hydraulic top link, electrical hook-up for things like sprayers, the hydraulic bypass is set up to 2000 PSI for a LOT more power (I want to go higher but I'm not sure how high I could go before it gets too much for the tractor.) The FEL stick is shortened considerably and has an electrical thumb activated switch. Right now I'm working on a way to pressurize the cab.

Can we get some more pics, especially of the cab. Very nice setup.

Sure I will take some tomorrow and post them.

I love seat time, but that is way too much mowing, even for me

I love seat time as well but it is a lot of mowing, might have to mod a massaging seat next, lol.

Very nice. In the 5th picture, is that an electric heater hanging from the top? If so, how well does it work?
