RaT, It appears you were right it did need snugged up. Trouble is when I did it I didn't tighten it up enough. My brother inlaw stopped my and tighten it more and it appears to have stopped leaking. Still watching it close though. Moved several tons of dirt with fel, does great. Even brotherinlaw loved it and he has alot of heavy equipment like 99 jdeere 650G and 2003 650G, among others so I thought that was a real compliment. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I have now put 10 hours on mine, a feeble amount but man we got dumped on last week. I still have fuel in what I presume was a full tank, never checked other then the gauge. I think I could go to about 2 more hours on what I have. Thats 10.6 gallons so less then a gallon an hour, I think thats great. I have found 2300 RPM to be ideal for my mower and sound level is still very low. The more I use this the more I'm really enjoying it, much more then I anticipated, much more, it's a stinkin blast. It turns sharp as heck. Medium is just perfect for me and the hills I live on. Two very minor adjustments I made, 1: cranking the castle nut on the ROP's one notch to fit the cotter pin and snug up a washer and 2: a rubber washer under the bucket dump/retract valve under the black cover on the loader stick. This eliminated the slight rattle. Engine oil is still clear. I have modified the TnT valve setup a little and now its almost perfect. I"ll get a shot of it sometime and post it. Tried doing some differential braking with cruise control, works just like my International even though it's rare I use it on either tractor. HST almost eliminates these turning issues since reverse is so fast. Mowed my pond which means a bunch of backing down a grade and eventual drop off into a mud bottom water pit. Using the hydraulic top link I can lower the mower down to the ground and raise it back up as well as using the 3 pt. With this tractor, mowing around the pond is a piece of cake and a real stress inducer with the International. I stand on the brakes with the International, back it down with gravity, have it in 1st gear and in forward and ready to pop the clutch if the thing starts heading in. Enough rambling, I feel like a kid, even though tractors are nothing new to me, this L3830 HST I gotta tell you has really got me excited. Rat...

RaT:

I had a little problem with my old L3710 which had no cab, but a ROPS. The ROPS would rattle at a certain engine rpm. it just so happened that the rpm was the sweet spot for power. I added fiber washers between the outer bar and the moveable bar and that cured the problem.

Wow, It is a blast. I've got 10 hrs on mine already and still have a half of tank of fuel left. I was worried about turning on my hill in some tight spots but not now, turns on a dime. Greased all the fitting on the fel today and waxed it. Exited I am. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif ---Shane
