All,
I waited and finally went out of state (NE) to (CO).
I received what I think is a pretty good quote but would like to get a double check from the knowledgeable members of this post.
Here's the numbers:
2305 with iMatch and front and rear lights $10,289.30
200CX loader with Ballast Box $ 2,716.51
54C MMM with independent lift $ 1,814.61
Total $14,820.42

Thanks!

new,

You might be able to do a few hundred better. Deere has really tightened up the pricing structure -- for example, not the dealer has to share in the cost of financing etc. I do suggest you consider the 62C deck though. It is a better choice for the 2305. The overlap over the tires is better, it reduces the uncut circle to 36" and moves the ROPS further away from trees etc. -- effectively making the tractor more maneuverable.

There are better prices to be had, but maybe not in your area. Best advice is to get on the phone and call the dealers in your area (to start). Narrow down your choices and maybe make some personal visits to these dealers.

I just bought a 2305 with iMatch, light guards, 200CX with Ballast Box and a 62C MMM (no independent lift) for $13,780. I'm in MN. My price was pretty good but others have done better in other states.

Independent lift is about $300, light kits are about $200 but the 62C deck is about $400 more than the 54C. We're pretty close to a wash on options.

Good Luck!

I forgot to put this in my first post - I agree with JDFANATIC on the 62C deck. Go with the 62C if it works with your yard, trailer, etc.

Going out of state can save you, but how much? Is the savings worth dditional trips if something goes wrong. While all Deere dealers have to provide warranty coverage, sometimes it takes the selling dealer to make a difference. I would suggest buying from a dealer that you would be happy returning to.

Sometimes dealers shoot out prices, thinking they have 'tire kickers' and need to sharpen their pencils. Do as was suggested and call around. Use Deere's dealer locator - there may be one that you missed!

My belief is that having a dealer that's local is a big advantage for service, parts, and future purchases of bigger and better machines!. I got a much lower quote from a larger dealer that was several hours away, and I informed my local guys about it when I was shopping. I told the local guys that I didn't expect them to beat or even match the quote I got, just be in the ballpark. I think I got a great price, and the dealer made some money too. I just stopped in last week and purchased a stihl leaf blower, and had some great conversations with the sales staff. I don't have the breakdown, but I paid $13,500 for the 2305 with 62" MMM w/ind. lift, 200CX loader, and R4's. I forgot about the ballast box and just threw that on the credit card when I stopped in. That price was down from their original quote of $14,750.00, and another mostly (95%) orange dealer that somehow manages to keep a Deere Franchise quoted $14,500. Like the other guys have stated, stop in to your local dealer and show him you've been doing some research and are ready to buy, and hopefully he'll come up with a price you can both live with.

Another vote for the 62" deck....

The best price on any machine is when you call every dealer within a hundred or two hundred mile radius and get a list of all their prices. Now you take the lowest price and call every dealer back and see if they'll beat it and by how much. Then you call the guy who gave you the lowest price and see if he'll beat the lowest price you got on the next go around. You keep doing that until no matter how much you conjole and harangue, the lowest cost dealer just won't budge another penny (but he might throw in some free stuff. . . at least get a jacket and a hat).
THAT is when you know you've got the best price in your area.
Aint no different than buying a car or any other big ticket item.
You'll know you're having fun when they start whining "I'm going to lose money on this deal!" That's when I say "YOU'RE going to lose money! I'm the one writing the check!" or try, "well, forget it then, I don't want you to lose money" and then get up and head for the door.
