Finally! Getting my first tractor!

Well, it's been 2 years since the wife and I bought our land, and after looking and pricing, and looking and pricing we finally decided to get the Kubota MX5100. Watching the prices go up and knowing that the new tier 4 tractors will cost even more prompted us to pull the trigger now.
Went ahead and ordered a grapple, shredder, finish mower, box blade, and pallet forks to go along with it.
Should be delivered sometime next week. Can't wait! Thanks to all of you who have answered my questions and share their experiences with others.

Wow, did you get the HST? That was my first choice but went with the L4400 For a slightly smaller footprint and weight on my trailer. Great choice. I also looked for 2 years, After all other brand salesman ending their sentences with "than the Kubota" I decided than I will buy a Kubota!

You will love it as I have the older m5700 (2005) and had zero problems with it . It only has 425 hrs. on it but has been a great tractor . I use mine mainly to remove snow with the front bucket and a 84 inch blower on the rear and to keep fields ( 30 acres ) mowed down with a 6 ft. rotary cutter . Of course many other chores come up that make having a tractor a real joy .

enjoy your new mx5100 hst.i worked the snott out of mine feeding an moving hay.then it got to where it would barely lift the big bales we was baling so i traded it on the 7040SU.

Did you ever find out why it would barely lift bales, too much weight or too much for the tractor?

Yes the tier 4 thing is a big mover....as I understand things there are only 2 ways to go....a fluid you have to put in that is as expensive as fuel, or some kind of scrubber/EGR thing that will need to be replaced after so long....and they are not cheap.

I wonder what happens to these machines if you don't put in the fluid, or change the egr/scrubber thingy.
