Finally build a box blade

Yesterday I ordered a 3/8 x4 x 8 sheet of plate,3 lengths of 3/8x2x2 angle 1 length of 3/8 x 2 flat bar and 1 length of 1/2 x 3 flat bar. My local machine shop sheared and bent the back of my 80" box blade 21" high and bent to 80" with the bent ends to reinforce the sides. I have a 6" I beam to use as the center reinfocement and ripper bar. Hope all goes well and the extra metal is to build a rear 3 point carrier for my Massey 165. Will keep u all posted and try to suppy pics. thanks Don

Good winter project, get a bunch of good rods, clean off your helmet's lens and start tacking it up. Sounds like a good start with the big stuff bent already. You gonna buy the rippers?

I say go for it!! I made a rollover box modeled after the Gannon (now Woods), but in a size more appropriate to my Yanmar 1510 D. It is a great project and was very satisfying.

Are you building it because you do not see what you what or just desire the satisfaction of "doing it yourself?" Post pictures of your plan and progress--even the parts that you gather together. We can enjoy the project too through you! And not even get our hands dirty.

As for ripper teeth i am thinking of making mine with 3/4 x 3 and then welding drill steel tips on them. Have access to lots of broken drill steel. And as for the picturesCamera battery was dead. Got batterys now thou
