Filters, maintenance on L3010

Well, I did the deal and bought the Kubota 3010 that was advertised right here on this board. It's due up here from Tennessee next weekend, thanks to a hauler that I found over on YTmag.

Price? - Well, the seller didn't get all he wanted and I think we struck a fair deal.

The tractor has about 335 hours on it and the current owner only had it for a few months. He bought it as a low time trade in from the Kubota dealer in Franklin, TN. The current owner opened a horse boarding stable but then decided that it was not the business for him.

I am pretty competent with a wrench, have a full tool kit with torque wrench and all, and have restored one classic car. Since I don't know the history of the tractor I'm thinking that the best thing to do is just to jump in and do the whole 400 hour service early.

A few questions:

1. Can the "official" Kubota filters be crossed over to Fram or Wix?

2. What grade of oil should I run for year around operation in eastern PA? I was thinking 10-30???

3. I am a synthetic oil fanatic. Any problem with Mobil 1 and synthetic hydraulic fluid?

Congrat's on purchasing a tractor. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Using the Tractorsmart site. I looked up your tractor. The Hydraulic and HST filter a quite expensive. The Wix site did not list those two filters.
You may find that Tractorsmart is one of the best places other than your local dealer to buy the filters and Super UDT. I have used them with good results.
