Seriously, you CAN use an oil-air-fuel filters from NAPA or auto parts stores that have a good X-reference for Wix or Hastings.

The HST filter has no cross reference and pretty much has to be purchased at Kubota.

I x-ref'd the Kubota to wix and came up with filter #51365. I'm guessing NAPA sells them, which is MUCH closer than my closest Kubota dealer. What oil do you use in yours?

A local auto parts or NAPA will have a quality Wix or Hastings oil filter for your BX. Of course, Frams are sold everywhere, though most dislike them.

As for engine oil, I presently have Kubota 10w-30 but will be changing soon to Shell Rotella T. Either 10w-30 Silver jug, or blue jug 5w-40 from WalMart.

Buying a Kubota filter from the local dealer or online for a dollar or two more is cheap insurance if there is a warranty issue.

Sometimes the Kubota branded filter is even less than off brands.

Likely cannot buy an HST filter from anyone else, but that BX1500 is how old? Warranty? Not too likely on a 6 year old machine.

I wouldn't worry too much about using a quality oil filter and Rotella purchased locally.
