So I keep 5 gallons of gas on hand for my generator. I store the generator dry and only splash a little fuel in it once in a while just to run it now and then. I had been giving the 5 gallons of fuel to my son every few months just to get fresh fuel. The problem now is he got a new car and his car, my wifes car, and my truck have the no gas cap fuel filler. Is there an easy way to get gas in these things from a fuel can? My truck came with a little spout that's attached to the jack for this but it looks like a pain.

I’ve never seen one of these to see how they work but I think my VP gas cans with a spout would work.

I don't think it would, I'm not sure what it takes to open the fuel door.

Like I’ve said I’ve never seen one, but the VP cans have a plastic tip that’s nearly the same size as a real gas nozzle. I’m guessing there’s no black magic involved and it just takes a round piece that’s the right diameter.

My neighbor's car has that, too. A little funnel to use in an emergency if you should run out of gas. He said it took him a while on-line to figure out where it was. Go to a u-pick junk yard and get a spare for a couple bucks. ;)

The little funnel/spout works by depressing the release buttons inside your vehicle's fuel neck. When you shove it in the neck, the funnel passes and depresses those release buttons which then allows the locked "door" to open and the funnel is inserted. Most fuel cans don't have that perfect spout size so you can't get the buttons depressed and the little door locks you out.

You have to use either the little funnel that your car came with or an aftermarket one available and most any retail outlet that sells automotive supplies.

You should go with a BIG funnel.

If you can get a funnel in then a Pocket Pump should work. I think the model without the mechanical nozzle might be the better one. Good for all your small refueling needs and one of my better /worthwhile purchases for $30 Canadian.
