Whilst changing the gear oil oil this weekend I think I left the plug laying on the axel. I have no idea what size or thread it is. Kama 354 owners it's part # 5 on page 25 of the parts manual. Looks to be about a 25mm plug. Any ideas on where to get one locally?

Looks like 20mm. we have some but with finer threads. I'll get some sent and borrow one of another tractor for now...

Some auto parts stores carry metric drain plugs. I have seen them as big as 27MM. It helps to have a similar plug in hand when trying to match one up. Will any of the other plugs on the machine(gearbox, hydraulic resovoir) fit that hole?

Failing that, you might be able to use a rubber expansion plug(available at most hardware stores) temporarilly untill you can get the proper plug ordered. Most expansion plugs use a center thread and nut assembly you just want to make sure that any threaded portion that is inside has the threads at the end mashed over so that it wont drop the nut into the gearbox if it should vibrate loose.

all i could do was measure across the top of the hole. It was just a hair under 1 inch. Don't rob one off a tractor for me, you might need it. Someone here at work said it might be BSPP(british pipe) or just plain metric. I can locate one if I knew what I was looking for. Do you have a micrometer and thread guage you could slap on that puppy? I don't want you to have to wait on that slow boat to get a new plug.

my tractor is 50 miles away at my farm, wish i had thought to look for a similar plug before i left. I am pretty sure napa has em, just don't know what to buy.

oh, i got to move some some dirt with the FEL loader yesterday. To say I was impressed with the power of the little Kama is an understatement.

I will try to ID the thread tomorrow and let you know, I'm sure it could be replaced with an oil drain plug if we can match the thread size...

if there is a napa anywhere close they could match it up.

Thanks a bunch

25 mm with 1.50 pitch will do it. Auto stores carry it.

small world eh? ,lol. i went to 2 or 3 different places after work and NAPA was the only that could get it around here. Anyway, there are supposed to have me one in Louisville tomorrow.
Did you pull any of your fuses? If not you might want to do that as all of mine were still connected to whole spare bundle.

Good point Dwayne, I remember we discovered that when I dropped off your tractor. if the fuse blows, it conducts throught the wire wrapped around the plastic fuse body and melts it ruining an otherwise rebuildable fuse.
