Have a question, on the ones with the wood bearings did you take them apart and pack them or were there grease zirks? I looked at one today and it had 2 zirks on each bearing housing. Looks in good shape, one outer disc blade missing and a lot of nuts bolts are not rusted up so looks like its been gone over recently. Was going to offer him $300 but not sure if I want to deal with wood bearings if that's the case. Thanks

Mine has Zerks. I bought the disk 20 years ago, and the wood bearings are just fine. I was thinking of changing mine, but after taking the caps off, they were in great shape. There is/was a company that still made new wood bearings for them. I believe found them by doing a google search, using the bearing part number.

The hand lever adjust is great for setting at full cut to work down plowed ground, then set to partial cut for a finish. I can't even imagine using one where you have to unbolt the gangs to adjust the cut.

I gave $270.00 for mine 25+ years ago, and that was considered a steal. They still command a good price at dealers.
