Posthole Digger Fence posts in sand??

...just pound them in.
I've pounded in poles with my FEL... and it wasn't even sandy soil. I did have the bucket full of dirt and rocks to add extra weight.

Fences work just fine in sand. I'm in florida, and although I'm not in cattle, we are either the 2nd or 3rd beef cattle producing state. Millions of miles of fence posts. 6"8" post buried to 4 ft above, works fine. Keep space it 8 ft, use 8 ft posts for corners and pack the sand.

Or instead of augering in the posts perhaps renting a post pounder, and just driving them in to 4 feet or so. kind of redundant with you already having an auger, but it may be a lot less trouble and labour involvement.

I've got sandy soil and this was the method to set the gate/corner/end posts. A fencing contractor used his vertical ram to pile-drive/set them, then it was 5 strand wire attached to 'star pickets' (I think they're called T posts elsewhere).

Pounding them in compresses the sand around the base & sides of the post making for a solid, long lasting post.

I've then capped each wooden post to prevent rain water top-rotting. In climates where you get severe frosts or ice forming, this will extend the life of the posts for decades.
