I have already finished the visible part of the fence using 4x4 posts every 16 feet and landscape timber in between the 16 ft span making the spacing roughly 8 feet. All the 4x4's are concreted 3 feet in the ground. I have 3 runs of 1x6x16 slats nailed to the inside of the pasture to help prevent "push out" when a horse rubs up against it.

Now the back and side peremeter's of the pasture I am planning on using either "T" posts or regular wood posts. How far should these be spaced to hang the 4 ft box wire on tight? Also if I use wood posts do I need to concrete all of them?

Thanks
Wade

hey wade, i fenced my place last year with same kind of wire. i used t post 10 feet apart. your corners are really all you need in concrete, the other post just mainly hold the wire up off the ground. i think all wood line posts would be overkill. your corners are what keeps a good tight fence, if you stretch it properly.

10' apart is what works for me. And I use my tractor with a fence wire clamp to stretch the wire.

Your peremiter fence on t-post can be done with spacing as much as 20' and stil have a tight fence if you have good corners and braces and stretch the fence good.. good fence like redbrand woven fence holds up well.

I almost never concrete posts in.. too much work and generally not needed for friction piles...
