I am fairly certain I will be buying the DK40SE HST with the KL401 FEL. The Kubota Grand series is also a very nice tractor but the Kioti has a significantly stronger FEL. It's even stronger than the LA854 on the larger L series Kubotas (atleast on paper.) All of these loaders on the larger tractors are going to seem very capable. If one is actually significantly stronger in than the others, that would suit my purpose well since I want to use a grapple bucket for some possible tough jobs.

My question is:
Is this difference in FEL capacity real? I suspect any of these loaders will be very capable of lifting a bucket of whatever you put in it. Has anyone ever really put the KL401 to any kind of test and found it to be stronger in actual use?

I have a 2008 kioti Dk40se with the KL401,very powerfull loader IMHO.I burn wood pellets for heating my home so I buy the wood pellets by the ton(2,000 lbs)My loader has no problems lifting them.Remember lifting heavy weight you will need your rear tires filled and some type of counter weight for the rear of the tractor.coobie

Coobie, Thanks for the reply. I guess we both have insomnia. I suspect your 2000 lb pallet is probably much more weight than most have an opportunity to lift. That's impressive if it lifts it easily and quickly. Thanks again.

cant speak for the dk40 but my dk55 will lift the rear tires off the ground and they are loaded with antifreeze, the dk40 is a fine choice, i would not worry about the loader picking stuff up.

My KL401 will lift the rear tires off the ground even when I have the BH mounted. I've pulled 4x3x2 foot granite boulders out of the ground using a grapple and though the loader did not complain, I could barely move the rock after lifting it despite the BH as the rear end was so light.

I'm not sure if Kubota underrates its loaders but I'm pretty sure Kioti doesn't overrate the KL401.
