FEL level indicator

I did this on our B2601 Kubota but it would work on almost any machine that does not have a level indicator.

Just took 5 ft of 1/2 inch PVC, short 3/8 inch eye bolt, 2 nuts, 2 big washers (B2601 had big holes on each side already), a screw hose clamp, elbow and 2 caps. Use level and mark with a piece of black tape.

I've never understood the interest in bucket level indicators. I just look at the top of the bucket, which is parallel with the bottom and visible on either side of the tractor, and judge by that. Is the top not parallel to the bottom on some units?

This subject has been addressed many time in many forums..... Some of us find them very useful and some are to stubborn to accept the fact the some tools work for others even if you don't fine them useful..... For me it's kind of nice to know when I have my brush forks on and can not even see the bucket because of brush its nice to know I'm not driving the forks into the ground or tilted up so much I am not really sliding under the brush....

NO, most are not. (and my buckets are not)
I use my bucket level often, handy as hell IMO.

If you are not interested in the levels, why on earth would you waste your time writing a response to a thread? Some of us may have failing eyesight or depth perception problems. Some may not get the seat time to learn how to judge the level of the bucket.

So if you are blessed with good eyesight and enough practice and do not need the indicator keep your negative comments to yourself and move on.

bucket level indicator

Do any of you guys use that thing? I got one on my tractor but it seems to be kind of unhelpful. I think I do better just looking at the load.

I find mine extremely useful. And the top of my loader is parallel to the bottom. But I am looking at it all from an angle while setting in the seat. A change in tilt of just a degree or so is all it takes to dig a hole you didn't want to dig, or to not cleanly scrape what you wanted to scrape. No way you could get the tilt exactly right in a repeatable fashion on my tractor without one, regardless of the quality of your eyesight.
