fel hydraulic cylinder lock

Several on here have made their own locks to keep the loader up and safe. Some are as simple as a pipe cut to lay over the cylinder shaft to prevent retracting.

Some commercial backhoe loaders I have seen, Caterpillar and Deere in particular, have cylinder stops painted red. I haven't seen the same on Ag loaders although our JD 6230 has a hydraulic valve lock - a valve that blocks flow to one of the lift cylinders. Once the valve is turned to its blocked position, it would take multiple failures for the loader to drop. Same thing with our JD MoCo disk mower - it has a valve at a lift cylinder that effectively safety locks the machine.

When our local dealer goes to farm shows all the loaders have properl;y measured angle irons zip tied to the extended rods on the raised loader arms.

I agree with David, if there is not already a mechanical lock (not hyd) built into the machine then the appropriate sized angle iron, channel, etc and the appropriate method to hold it on. That is the only way any one will ever catch me under anything. To many tragedy's in the farm and ranch world to risk it.

Pieces of angle iron are readily available and reasonably easy to cut to size for your loader lift cylinders. I've done it before, on an engine hoist that I needed to leave a 7.3 diesel motor hang on overnight. Worked great.

I wonder if the manufactures only put them on non-removable loaders? Such as, my SS has one, but the 770 does not. They must assume a removable loader does not need to be suspended for maintenance work.

I needed to change a water pump on a L2550 which has a non removable loader. I lifted the loader all the way up and chained the loader to the roll bar.

I cringe at my dealer's because they always work with the loader raised and no safety device. I usually have a big bale around the place on which I can prop the loader - my L5740. My M135GX needs to go higher so the loader comes off if I need to work on it and the loader interferes.
