I have quite a bit of Log debris to clear out of a creek. Has anyone ever made a homemade grapple that would fit on a Kubota MX5400 FEL attachment. I might have to make some sort of rake etc. suggestions and photos appreciated

I've built, modified and repaired several grapples. What do you mean when you say, "that would fit on a Kubota MX5400 FEL attachment"? That should be just a standard SSQA. There are a wide variety of options. I prefer a swivel grapple over a root grapple for most things. Here's the one I built this winter.

Grapples come up at auctions every week and go for $1200-1800 range depending on size. Then check FB marketplace for used ones too.

If you want to go another route, add a grapple thumb to your existing bucket The Thumb - Add-on Grapple Attachments

You will need a third function valve or a hyd connection for either thumb or grapple

How about a picture of what you are dealing with, is this a dry creek bed ? or wet and not solid bottomed? All for using a grapple when it can be used but when you say creek an excavator with a thumb might be better?

For brush and logs I like what Mikester posted and similar numbers in a tractor that size works well. My grapple is similar 66.5" width 49" opening but has replaceable round tines, makes it easy to add extensions when hand stacking but usually not needed. L bottoms are more versatile -but jmo.
