There are those who will tell you to rent an excavator- or hire someone with bigger equipment. But then some folks like to go "fishing" at the seafood store. . .
The Erie Canal was dug with shovels and wheelbarrows.

It is amazing what can be done with a little caution and patience.

Of course FELs can be used for digging, just don't try to do with a CUT or farm tractor what the folks on construction sites do with CAT D9s and the like!
