Snow FEL bucket plus Back Blade?

I hate to say it but other than a snowblower I dont see any real way to clear a long driveway with a little tractor like ours.

Ive got a 1200' driveway and living in northern NH we get quite a bit of snow...the tractor with FEL is perfect for cleaning up and helping push back piles, but it would never be practical to clear my whole driveway with it. If you float the bucket and drive forward you wont get very far before the pile of snow is big enough to stop the tractor and you'll have to lift it, and drive over snow to go dump it, then come back and do that again, etc...obviously it could be done but there are better ways.

Maybe some sorta plow setup but even that I dont think would work great. I plow my driveway and I have to angle the plow and build up some speed to help throw the snow off the side a bit. And often I push into piles pretty hard to push them back and make more room for future snow. The 2025 just isnt heavy enough to really push back piles like that with a plow.

I'd say a rear mount snowblower would be your best option. If you've got a gravel driveway like I do just drive on the first few snowfalls and pack it down into a nice dense base before plowing or snowblowing, that way you arent picking up gravel with the blower.

I know this is way off topic from what you originally asked...but for the price of a snowblower you can find some beater yard truck with a plow on it and run that to clear the majority of the snow, then use your FEL for cleanup. I've had a mid-90s reg cab Chevy with plow I picked up for $1200 going on 4 years now...if I paid someone to plow my driveway I wouldnt doubt I'd be looking at $1000/season at least anyway so I figure its more than paid for itself and will hopefully keep going for many more years!

Blstr88 - That is a reasonable response.

PJL13 - How is the snow cleared from your driveway now?
Is it flat or sloped?
What is the typical depth of snowfall you will be clearing?
What is the maximum depth of snowfall you will be clearing?
R1, R4 or turf tires on your new tractor?

With an "UpState NY" address, snow could be from a dusting to over two feet.. The bigger falls often mean getting out there and chiseling away at some of it mid storm, regardless of equipment options.

My blizzard blower has a 28 inch tall inlet, sometimes I can't get out there mid storm because it is literally a Blizzard so when I get a couple of feet I will take it slow. We get three storms a week here, the guy down the road blows snow with his kubota we have about the same driveway setup, he is done with a two storm at least an hour before I'm done screwing around trying to bucket it and back blading, small tractor a snowblower and a bucket on the other end is my recommendation.
