FEL-any suggestions?

<font color=blue>what I need to know is there a good aftermarket loader out there? All the dealers want between $3600-$4000.00 for the loader that is the same brand as the tractor. I don't use a loader very often,still is nice to have one when I need it.</font color=blue>
It is interesting what turns a thread can take. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif BigBob never said he wasn't getting a loader. He was asking if there are less expensive alternatives to the dealer installed factory FEL.

I'd have a tendancy to go with the dealer loader as it may be designed/sized for the tractor and also allow other implements to be attached that an aftermarket may interfere with.

bush hog makes a nice set of loaders. They fit a wide variety of compacts.

Sometimes, the OEM loader is easier to take on an off. Be sure to check on that before you make your final decision....convenience is a blessing!

I priced them in my area. An equivilant to the BF301 that my Kubota calls for, was running $3200-3400. The factory one was $3400. I got a Bushhog, installed by a local repair shop. I hs worked well for the two years I've had it.

I see this thread is a little old, but I looked into a few brands a while ago. My New Holland dealer wants $4600 for a factory 7308 loader on my TC29D. I found another tractor dealer (they sells Kubota and Case tractors) that sells Woods 1012, which can match the tractor color, for $3555. They also sell another brand, Great Bend, which also can match the tractor color, for $3395. All prices I just stated include installation and controls.

Have the 7308 loader that I bought with the tractor. Nice loader, other brands will have better capacity. What is nice is that you cannot get into trouble if the loader cannot lift it.

The 7308 with the easy on/off feature, I cannot tell you about as mine as never been off.

bigbob--We sell 3 lines of new tractors and will only install the OEM FEL for each particular brand--you will find better fit and balence and no warranty isssues. Some Mfgrs have been known to void a warranty on a new tractor with a aftermarket FEL installed. (you still have the loader warranty). We sell Allied/Buhler FEL for use on used tractors and they do well on that type application. --Ken Sweet

Hi Danny:

When I bought my new TC29 in April 02. I had it equipped with a new Woods 1012 loader and 66"HD bucket. No problems with balance, fit or other problems. It was sold to me and installed through my New Holland dealer. Who claims that there will be no warranty issues, and that they will fix any problems. Now with 278 hours on the tractor I have not had to test their claims yet as the loader has had no problems.

As for the price I would tell your dealer he needs to sharpen his pencil more, as I paid $2500 installed for mine. Which was another reason that I bought the Woods over the 7308. By the way the quoted price on the 7308 was $3100. So it sounds like your dealer is trying to retire early on the prices he charges.

Another issue is the fact that New holland is supposed to be close to introducing their new 14LA loader for the Class II Boomers. When they come out there may be some good deals on the remaining 7308's that are still in stock. I just can't beleive the price that your dealer wants for a 7308. Has antone else had to pay a similar price for one.

Kodiak, This warranty thing is not going to be a issue most TBN users--I just meant to point out that if a owner is going to push the limits of his tools, he is at risk??.-- We have a local MF dealer that rejected a warranty claim because of what was considerd operator error?? There are clauses in most standard warrantys that cover these things-- By the way, the customer was small scale "Logging" with the tractor and loader and the tractor broke in half at the bellhousing. The loader mfgr tried to blame the tractor mfgr for bad castings and the tractor mfgr tried to blame the poorley designed "Mid-Mount" loader for the failure. If all had been OEM, I dont think the failure would have much of a issue.--Ken Sweet
