Airport Security

Almost 150 yrs ago, President Lincoln found it necessary to hire a private investigator - Mr. Alan Pinkerton. The function that Pinkerton established actually was the beginning of the Secret Service. Since that time federal police authority has grown to a large number of three-letter agencies - FBI, CIA, INS, IRS, DEA, BATF, SS, etc.

Now comes a proposal for another agency: The "Airport Security Service." Can't you see it now, the new service in their black outfits with their initials in large white letters across their backs?

Franz, for my part all federal agents could wear the A$$ jackets and not be too far off!

Bout 5 years back, a friend who owned a business called Isaac Racking and Shelving had hats made with IRS in 1 1/2" letters above tiny typw with the full name.
I pulled away from the drive up teller window one afternoon, wearing my hat, and noticed a cop following. When I flipped the chanel on my 2 way to the cop chanel, it was very entertaining, the Barney following me was not only running my plate, he was having the dispatcher call IRS to determine who I was and what was up.
Being the good cooperative citizen I am, I spent the next half hour leading Barney all over town. The best part was at least 4 other cops who were on duty that day, listening to the radio traffic, wouldn't tell Barney what was up.

Todd, If you get one of those radios, don't get caught with it in Michigan, you will be in big time trouble.

It is ok to monitor police channels, but not from a car. They have no sense of humor about that in this state.
