So, I get a load of 5/8 crusher gravel dropped off in my driveway, to combat the potholes I've accumulated.

Before attempting to do the spreading, I decide at the very least, I want to
change my crankcase oil and air filter in my 'new to me' FE-35.

So, after reading the manual, I know it's an oil bath filter.. So, I pull the cap off and I found a mess.

I've cleaned out the oil cup (see the contents of the yellow bucket).

I've soaked the air filter (the part that contains the u-turns inside) in a two-stroke gasoline mixture for about 25 mins. The owner's manual I have found indicates that you're more than able to use gasoline (I'm hoping that 2 stroke is irrelevant! :)).

I've taken and hooked up a shop-vac, put it on the intake side of the air-filter and have felt a great deal of air being pushed through the filter and coming out the bottom where the cup is.

The questions I have are:

- Is two stroke okay assuming I leave it the night before putting it on?

- Is the air-filter for the FE-35 able to come apart in order to clean inside
it?

Thanks!

The manual also states diesel, so, I don't think the two-stroke is going to hurt it.

The safety police look down on using gasoline for cleaning anything. I only mention it so that you know and accept the risk.

Well, the substance that shall not be named worked great. Now on to the next tasks, leaky gaskets, dripping injector and unsiezing
a brake linkage and even though I just changed the oil, I just found out you can convert the beast to a spin-on oil filter, now THAT is
something I am going to do. :)

Then, I can pretty it up with the fenders :)
