Has anyone got any idea of how many farmtrac dealers are reciving this sites info? 3-18-08

This would be an assumption, but one I would put a pay check on it to say that all dealers because the information about Montana POSSIBLY handling the parts/service/warranty came directlyfrom Textron and that is who holds the floor plan for Farmtrac. While Textron has given out very little information about the Farmtrac issues, they do not hesitate to fax and call dealers when they have not paid their monthly interest or insurance payments. The information about farmtrac/Textron/Montana was also published in the Tarboro, NC news paper.

To answer CITYTRANSPLANT,S question of how it would benefit Montana to take over and warranty the Farmtracs would be like moving into a house that somebody else built. Farmtrac had the dealerships already setup and they were already familiar with selling and servicing the subcompact tractors that Farmtrac had which are the same thing as the Montana,s. I do not know if it would be in Montana,s best interest to service the Farmtrac-Ford style tractors or not although it is a very good line of tractors with proven reliabiliy and what seems to be a substantial following. I hope these clarifies my previous post. Sorry for not responding P.M. 3-17-08 as my little brain was smoking from helping my daughter with pre-algebra.

Brentwood, I too talked to Textron yesterday. I suggested if nothing else they could purchase warranty from one of the warranty companies and resell it to Farmtrac dealers. Most Farmtrac dealers are not big enough to purchase 3rd party warranty cheaply but Textron would be able to get us better rates. She said they were already investigating that. I suggested Textron could do retail financing since AgriCredit doesn't want Farmtrac as colateral anymore. She said they were unaware of Acricredit backing out of our financing and that she would tell B.S and K.S. Like you I was unable to speak directly to K.S. because of the meetings you mentioned. It is a shame that Escorts can't be held liable for the warranty after all they made the tractors. I went through this in 2005 with Scorpion (TYM) when Scorpion went belly up. You dare not send tractors back--they don't have money to pay you but will take the tractors any way. If I ever take anymore new lines on I will be sure to have a lawyer do the Dun and Bradstreet. Lawyers can get info from D and B that we can't. Hope everything works well for you.

Where I work we took on the TYM line in the spring of 2006 and continued to offer warrantys on Scorpion tractors for the duration of their three year warranty. I dont know how it was for dealers who didnt take on the new line or if they had tractors to return. I know the Scorpion distributor had been in sad shape for a few months or more before closing. I was to their auction and they had started parting out some of their products because the manufacturers had cut them off. They had one tractor half parted out. Parts were missing from a lot of the equipment in most of the lines they carried. I can guess it was a big mess for Scorpion dealers just like the Farmtrac dealers are having now. The Farmtrac problem is even worse as it hurts many more dealers and customers. Hopefuly LS working with Montana will help on warranty issues on their product. Escort needs to step up to the plate and help out on their product warranty if they ever plan on selling tractors in the USA again. I wish everyone the best.

Check your emails. Got one today from a Doug Gurkins CEO and Assist to receiver, that the Farmtrac offices are operational .Kinda terse wording, but he does give phone numbers etc.
