Tractor
55HP 4WD KAMA 554 and 4 x 4 Jinma 284
I've been reading about how good the Farmtrac tractors are. How does the KAMA compare to it? I thought I bought a pretty good tractor for the money when I bought the KAMA 554.

Can anybody make a comparison (PROS AND CONS) in the 50HP class for example?

FARMTRAC is in a whole different price. FARMTRAC is the new name for Long Agribusiness. the Utility tractors are made by Escorts of India, the compacts are LG (aka Goldstar) from Korea. KAMA are made in China. We sell both but they are in completely different price ranges. The KAMA is one of the best Chinese makes sold in the USA (ok, I am probably biased) You can buy a 50HP KM554 with loader for about the same money as a 27HP Farmtrac but the fit and finish and warranty are much better on the Farmtrac. It is like comparing Jinma and Kioti (come to think of it, I sell both those brands too /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

will kama ever offer the 100hp deutz powered tractor in the usa. do you have spec on this machine.

They have sold in the past, but not legal to import because the engine is not epa approved, demand does not warrant the investment to certify the engine. not aware of any big Deutz diesels being imported, Most tractor companies are using Perkins for larger HP applicaitons...Not sure what the new 75-115 Farmtracs (SAME) use for engines, but they are not inexpensive, being italian.

OK, I guess I should re-phrase the question a little....Does the 27hp Farmtrac have the same capabilities as the KAMA 50hp? That is...can it pull, push, dig and lift the same? Do the added HP and weight really make a diference in performance?
My KAMA seems pretty darn sturdy, but then again, I've never had another tractor to compare to. I can't say "man, I really liked this feature on my other tractor alot"..know what I mean?
What makes the difference in $$? Are there certain features that make a tractor with better fit and finsh so much better to own and operate? Or is it reliability, strength and performance? Or does it stem from parts availability, warranty and service?
I don't spend as much time or use my tractor as much as I'd like but I've spent 8-10 hr days on it when I do use it. It's kinda Spartan but seems to handle all the chores quite easily. I guess I really don't know?

Well, comparing a Farmtrac to a Kama TS254C is the logical comparision. There is no comparison in my opinion. The Farmtrac/LG is simply a better tractor. That being said is the Kama not viable? Of course not, they have their market and fit a need and in many cases do just fine.

The differences are many. The LG manufactured tractor is superior workmanship, better fit and finish, more reliable (this is a knowelagable opinion), more refined and the list goes on.

The prices in the tractors reflect this and in many cases for many users the Kama is just fine. It would depend on your applications, ability to work around problems, dealer support etc.

Is Farmtrac better? To answer your question simply, Yes! Does this mean don't buy a Kama? No!

Compare a 50hp LG tractor and my answer is the same as above.

Sounds like your machine does what you need it to do, met your price needs and you are happy with it so to me it sounds like you got the right tractor for you.

Best of Luck,
Maka

My example was just to give an idea of the price difference, the point that I failed to make was that you can buy roughly twice the tractor in terms of HP and weight and basic work capability, but the Farmtrac has much nicer workmanship, is easier to operate, has a better warranty and you will need the warranty much less. Another example I could have used is the TS254C with shuttle is about $4- 5000 less than the 270DTC. If money is not the main object in selection, then a Korean tractor is a great value. Chinese tractors are the lowest entry cost and provide good service, but you will have a few bugs to work out along the way. I have found that the customer who buys Chinese would probably not buy a new big three or Korean tractor, and would most likely by used. Chinese tractors compare very favorably with used, often still less money and usually are sold with a warranty, ROPS, independent PTO or 2 stage clutch, etc... not always found on used tractors.
