Farmtrac grease fittings

There are grease fittings under my Farmtrac 300 DTC at the center of the front axle. I cannot get them to take grease. Any ideas?

I have a 360 DTC and noticed the same thing. No grease will go in that fitting.
It's in the middle right? On sort of a "pivot point"?

It's possible the fitting is bad (just had the same problem on a Befco RFM).
If this is a typical zerk fitting, there's a tiny ball on the end that may be clogged. Use a small pin punch (brass, if possible) and try to push it by hand.
If it still doesn't take grease, find another, simlar "good" (one that you know will accept grease) fitting on your tractor and replace the "discrepant" one. If it takes grease then, you men know you have to replace those fittings.
BTW, when you pull the "discrepant" fitting out...take a look in the holes to ensure they aren't blocked in some way.

Question for you both...have these fittings normally been taking grease?

If they have, there may be dried out grease blocking the area the grease would normally ooze out.

The fitting on my 360 will "ooze" grease if I push the ball in. It's probably just full, but each time I grease the tractor I try to do all the points. I've never been able to push any grease in that particular one. I'll bet the author of this thread has experienced the same thing.

I have a Bota but, mine has a breather plug on the other side of the axle support. Take a look maybe thats what it is. Clay

If you have a FEL use it to lift the front end of the tractor a bit, this relieves the pressure on the axel and you should be able to get grease into the fitting. It works for me.

I never thought of that. I'll do it! Great suggestion. Wish I was smart e-nuff to think of these things.
