Has anyone used a Farmi JL 290 skidding winch with a Kubota B3030?
Is it a good combo? I would be using it for pulling small trees (6") up fairly steep slopes to the road. Comments or suggestions?
I had a Farmi 501 on a 1600 Oliver and on an L4350 Kubota. The JL 290 must be smaller so it should be OK. Get ready to lug the chains and the cable the distance to the logs. It will give you a real work out! I eventually sold mine and replaced it with an Implemax grapple/winch. Look into getting a snatch block, It is worth the cost as it can help you skid logs around obstacles.
I have the JL 290 on my B7610 which is smaller than the B3030. I have no problems with my tractor handling the winch. The 3030 should be able to do it with ease. Just be careful...the winch is stronger than the tractor!
Thanks for the reply's. I have found other confirmations as well, and thus am seriously looking for a used Farmi if I can find one. I have posted a WTB on Craig'sList. Does anyone know of one?
