Farmall hydraulic leak

I own a 57 farmall super a with a single arm from bucket that has a hydraulic problem. I would appreciate any help out there. Tractor works fine whe. You are using the bucket. Recently i have had a road rake on the rear. When using the road rake the hy fluid is draining from the reservior for the bucket and being returned to the oil pan of the tactor. Not sure if that explaination makes sense. I end up with an overfilled oil pan and depleted hy fluid.

Check your pump shaft seal.

There is a florescent dye that one can put in the hyd system, and when a black light is shined on the area, the dye will glow a grennish yellow.

So if you pull the pump, and shine the light on the pump, if it is leaking, it will be obvious.

I know NAPA sells the dye, and probably other auto parts stores.

i agree.. you may have no relief the blew the shaft seal.. or it blew on it's own, and oil is bypassing thru the drive to t he pump...
