farm pro 2420
Ok here goes from a newbie to this site . I have a farm pro 2420 2 wheel drive . What I would like to do is setup a additional hydraulic line for lifting a disc. I have a 10 ft disc that I used to pull behind my WD-45 . Now that it is in need of major repair . I need to locate a spot on the farm pro in order to hook into the hydraulic system in order to power the disc cylinder .

Thanks
in advance

The easiest way would be to install an open center valve to operate the disk cylinder, just tap into the quick connect coming off of the pump. Use a valve with a PR valve in it or when your cylinder gets to the end of its stroke the pump will blow it seal or worse.

Some tractors have a "half remote" provision, but I don't think the Jinma 200 series (what your Farmpro is) has that, at least on the farmpro version.

a 10' disk seems a lot for a 20HP 2wd, hope it works well for you. let us know... OH, and welcome!

I'm not absolutely sure, cuz I'm not in the vicinity of my spec sheet. But seem to recall the JM200 could only lift about 675 pounds. I'm pretty sure a 10' disc weighs more than that little tractor can safely transport. Or are we talking wheel disc here?

I was hoping somewhere on the factory control assembly . I would be able to install another quick connect and make it work as on the wd 45

Assuming yours doesn't have the 1/2 remote that Chip mentioned, I think you'd better start a shopping list. If it does have the half remote, it's simply a matter of diverting the flow. Once diverted, the TPH lift handle becomes the wheel cylinder lift handle. That's where Ronald's question about 1-way or 2-way cylinders comes into play. With the 1/2 remote; lift handle up - pressure raises the disc. Lift handle down, gravity drains the cylinder. Far as I know, that's for a 1-way cylinder. If your disc has a 2-way cylinder, continue with the shopping list

As the others have said you are going to need to get a kit like Ranch Hand has or you will have to make your own using a valve and the correct hoses along with a pressure relief valve.

I do have a old backhoe .( I'll have to see if I can use anything off the loader part of it . New to this stuff . so i'll have to learn as I go . Maybe I can just use a pto driven pump . Then maybe I'll will be able to run log splitter as well .
lots of old stuff around here to which to work with .
