Hi All,

Looking at adding a chute rotator to our Buhler-Farm King Y500, and wondered how long the cylinder needs to be? Princess Auto will be our source for that.

The chute rotator bracket is on order, $90 is all it cost. Not gonna attempt to build one at that price. :)

On my Farm King Y740 it was a 8" stroke. I have to believe it would be the same half moon shaped turning bracket used on all of their blowers. You could use either a 2" bore or a 2 1/2 bore depending on how fast you want it to turn. Maybe someone with a 50" will verify this.

I pulled up the parts manual from their website. It is the same accuator they use on all their models. You want an 8" stroke cylinder. Just to be sure, I called the local dealer and he verified that no matter what size blower you buy, from the 50" on up, they all use a 8" stroke cylinder to turn the chute.

Thank you for doing that. Just got back from the dealer this morning, with bracket in hand. 8" stroke, 1" bore will work nicely.

The nice part is that the kit is a simple bolt on installation.
I will post pics once the install is complete. Hope it stops raining.

We had a break in the rain, so now we just need a trip to Princess Auto for the cylinder. The we can measure the tractor up for hoses.

Did you get a 1" bore or a 1" shaft? If it is a 1" bore you may find out that it turns too fast. I opted for a 2 1/2" bore so I could slow it down a little bit. Of course it depends on the flow rate of your tractor and other things, but I just wanted you to be aware of it. By the way, the Buhler/Allied/FarmKing blowers are a pretty reliable sturdy blower. I ran mine for years without any trouble.

Also use 1/4" hoses to help slow it down...and they are cheaper;)
