Farm King bevel gears

Good morning, does anybody know of an on-line source for Farm King snowblower parts? Specifically I'm looking for replacement bevel gears (open gear box) model 7400. I've been looking but not had much luck. I figure I better get them ordered now or I won't remember until the snow flies again!

Has anybody out there converted one of these to an oil-bath gear box? Seems to me that would last longer... What do you think?

They would last longer but the issue is the mounting as the rear wall of the snow blower would need to be reinforced with another sheet of steel with a drill hole for the impeller shaft and then the gearbox would require a longer shaft for the impeller. leaving the cover plate on and using corn picker grease would be a big help.

I use constant velocity joint grease on mine. How did they wear out? How many hrs of use? Try Boston Gear for replacement.

00 grease is commonly called corn picker grease.

Open bevel gears have been used for decades. McKee Bros made many sizes of blowers. They made 48" ones painted orange and sold by Kubota utilizing open gears.

Do you not have a Farm King manual with the bevel gear part number?

Any dealer selling Farm King could order parts especially if you have the part number.

These open gear blowers are still being made today and converting to an oil bath gear box is not practical.

The design of the fan support is completely different

I know people who have had these blowers for 40 to 50 years and the gears never wore out.
