Farm Boss 290 Control

Hi Folks,

My Stihl MS 290 that was bought in October 2010 has been faithful. I keep it in top shape after each use. But this last time that I cleaned it up with kerosene, compressed air, clean rags etc the throttle/choke control tab will not flip to the positions....viz., Full Choke, Half Choke, Run and Stop.

I can't see anything wrong with the mechanism/ linkage etc. I fiddle with it for a couple hours and finally quit for the day.

Anybody got any ideas? Thanks,,,

Plastic and snap in place. Sometimes the plastic control piece will snap off. You wont know it is missing unless you found the broken piece or see where it broke off.

Never mind...........with some more observation, I see where the problem is. Some way I (don't know how) the control tab moves on a silver spring bar that was displaced. All's well now. Looks like some dinner and a fresh look is all that it needed.
