Dk4510 350 hrs. Plastic fan disintegrates. Nothing hit fan, no chemicals, no warning. Just comes flying apart like a drunk girls outfit on a Saturday night. Not just one blade from fan. All of em! Glad it didn’t send shrapnel thru the radiator or bend the fins. What y’all think bout this? I ain’t never seen it before.

Wow. I have no idea what could cause that. First time ever I heard of such a catastrophic failure of an engine cooling fan, for any vehicle or tractor. But the Kioti dealer can fully replace if still under warranry. Any unusual engine vibration noted before failure?

No warning whatsoever. Dealer says that’s not under warranty. Mad me just a tad mad. And I mean just a tad.

I've seen a stick find its way to the fan before and take all the blades with it. By the time the operator gets it stopped, the stick has pulled out. Were you in an area with sticks or brush?

I had a plastic fan blade failure on my old LG (LS) 47hp. Tractor had done less than 1000 hours, but was able to get a new one from Korea (vis the Australian dealer) in about 10 days, for not a lot more than AU$100 delivered, so pretty happy with that service and price. Old one just was falling apart:

Is the use of plastic for the fan standard on CUTs today? Or is that just a Kioti thing? I haven't looked under any hoods yet.

There’s some brush there. But looking at the tractor I don’t see where a stick could get in there. It would have to poke a hole in radiator and guard from front. Bend the oil filter on the right. And bend the exhaust on the left. No marks where a stick went in. I’m assuming they all are plastic now torvy. Not sure. Piss poor design in my opinion. The new fan costs $65 Murican dollars. Then my time to put it on.

Plastic fans have been used for decades.

Ya, plastic fans have been around a long time. Never seen one explode before though. Makes me want to go check mine out with the bore scope
