Guys, I am starting another thread for my glowplg issue. My dash light does not come on for the glowplugs when I turn the key to the left. I checked the light and its not burned out. I beleive I have a issue with the plugs/wiring? How would I go about troubleshooting the glowplugs? Thanks in advance

Have you use a volt meter on the hot wire leading to the glow plugs? If so what do you see? If no voltage or way below batt voltage, problem is upstream. According to the schematic there is a control modual between the switch and glow plugs. I'd start looking for the modual and see what you find there.

Modual has 4 connections. Hot, ground, glow plugs, trigger (sig from switch).

Thanks Mickey, I will start with the volt meter and trace my way up. I saw the control module also. So I imagine you put the positive lead on the hot wire and the negative on the negative battery terminal or ground?

Use a bungie cord with a screwdriver through the center of the key. The way you can check the circuit by yourself. I found my plugs were working, but that it took a couple minutes before they were effective.

My simples test was to hook the battery charger to the battery and turn the key. If the plugs were working it was obvious on the charger meter.

Good luck!

Well the plugs work, I took them out and hooked them up to the harness then used the fronloader frame as a ground, all three heated up and turned red. So the harness is good and so is the key switch. So why isnt the light on the dash turning on when I activate the plugs? I guess its no bigie since I now know that they work but I would still like to have the indicator. By the way guys how long are you supposed to activate the plugs before you start the engine? Thanks for all the help, maybe I can get to the bottom of why the light doesnt turn on since I know the bulb is good. Also when you press the little button on the dash that lights up all the indicator lights the only one that doesnt come on is the top one (Glow Plug) light.

Turn the switch to the left and the light comes on, when it gets hot the light will go out, then start engine.

What happens when you press the check light switch? This should light up all the indicator lights.

When I press the check light switch with the key in the on position but tractor not running all lights come on except for the Glowplug. When the tractor is running and I press the check light switch only the Antifreeze reservoir light and the battery fluid light come on. I already checked the Glowplug indicator light bulb and it is good. What other circuits can I check, do any of you fine gents have a schematic you could post? Thanks

Sounds like it may be the wiring or the socket for the glow plug bulb. The bulb itself may be ok but if it's not lighting at all even with the check light's then something's going on.

Checking the socket for power was my next step. I have a schematic for the electronics on a FX/F24D, would this schematic be the same as my F22? I have attached the schematic.
