Greg - With only 2, I don't have nearly as many kids as you so I'm not quite the expert that you are. But, if memory serves me correctly - although my children did start out as "little people", they did grow! My baby girl is now 24 and stands at 5'11.5" (and about 125 pounds!).

Seriously though, 4" is a lot of legroom to be losing. Are you sure there's not a fairly easy way to keep it?

GREAT progress on this. Guys like you amaze me!!

Plus the fact that when they are small they like to kick the seatback in front of them. Which pisses off the siblings, or the parents. Good luck. Jon

Only be loosing 1.5". If I use 'front seats' for the middle, on sliders, extra back seat room can be made by sliding seat up as needed. Also, as they get older, they are more likely to no be riding around with the parents, which turns back seat 'extended cab' area into storage, not seating, space. I'm likely not gonna make myself a lot more work and just accept the loss of an inch and a half... And if you kick the seats, you're grounded!

This project reminds me of the old airport shuttles that CT Limousine used to use: suburban_4.jpg

That blue Suburban is awesome! If it would make it around the hairpin turns getting to my house... sit it on a nice lift, 4x4, and 40" boggers from under my mud truck... *grin*

Spent about 2 hours drilling spot welds... about 200 of them... got the front seat support and the rear foot well area support off the extended cab section. The seat support was removed to allow easier access to cut the floor where I need it, and once I saw the amount of rust damage to the inner rockers and rear foot well floor support, I took it out too. I'm hoping to repair the inner rockers without removing the outter rocker, where the bottom rear door latch mounts. More details on this in the future, as the repairs take place.

Had a helper for a little while earlier in the day... we talked about where to cut the floor, and if her kitten would come play with her in daddy's big red truck.

One heck of a lot of tedious work. Keep it going Diesel. I know you don't need encouragement especially with a precious little one egging you on!
