I stayed with my multifocals but the lens for my left eye is better at distance and the one for my right eye is better at reading. But since they are still multifocals middle distance vision is about the same for both. This works pretty well. I can work in them (computer and seeing patients), I can do outdoor stuff (tractor, hunting, chores and projects) and they work well for driving too. Dashboard and distance are good. They are still not as good at anything as my multifocal glasses......but they don't have all the downsides that glasses have. What they are not good at is prolonged reading, especially small print. For that I can put on a pair of reading glasses over the contacts or just remove the contacts.
The problem I'm having which will probably make the contacts not worth it is dry old eyes. For the last few weeks my eyes get very irritated with the contacts in more than 4-5 hours, even with a new pair.:grumpy:
